Athletics
With over 50 teams offered in nearly 30 sports, our athletic program permits students of most abilities to play the sports they want to while being very successful on the court or field. Being a member of the Catholic High School League (CHSL), our teams play against some of the toughest competition in the area. Our enrollment allows students to play two or even three sports each year. With over 40 state championships and over 100 Catholic High School League titles, our students learn to perform their best while playing with class.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

JOnas Englert
Varsity Boys Volleyball
Jonas is this week’s athlete of the week representing Boys Volleyball. Jonas has shown character, resiliency and talent. He is always supportive of his teammates and never gets frustrated or points fingers. He stays calm during all facets of the game and his play is consistent every game. Even though this is his first season ever playing organized volleyball, Jonas has become a go-to guy at the net when we need to get an important sideout or point. Over the past 4 games Jonas has had 51 kills, including 20 in one game. Those are amazing stats, especially for a freshman. We are grateful to have such a talented underclassman on the team!

Lauren Flynn
Girls JV Tennis
Lauren has shown amazing dedication to Divine Child Girl's Tennis in her first year with the Falcons. She did not miss one practice all year, including optional practices during Spring Break. Lauren began the year on the JV team due to her lack of experience with tennis. However, she quickly showed improvement at practice and in her JV matches. By the end of the season, Lauren was pulled up to the Varsity team so that should experience that level of competition to prepare for the future. Lauren did not shy away from the challenge, winning 3 of her 4 Varsity level matches. She is also the definition of a Student-Athlete as she is currently sporting a 4.09 GPA. Lauren plans to invest in offseason lessons and training, in hopes of locking herself into the Varsity lineup. We are very excited for her future!
