Tuition supports the cost of providing a superior educational and spiritual experience to each child, as well as classroom and curriculum expenses, and the robust co-curricular athletic teams, clubs and activities Divine Child High School offers.

We recognize the cost of gifting your child the blessing of a Catholic education and offer merit-based scholarship opportunities to incoming Freshmen and need-based tuition assistance to qualifying families.

Tuition & Fees

2026-27 TUITION RATES

In-Parish Tuition Rate: $11,500 per student

Out-of-Parish Tuition Rate: $13,765 per student

Families with 3 or more high school students enrolled, receive half-off tuition for their 3rd and 4th students.

For the 2026 – 2027 school year, as long as a family is registered at Divine Child Church, and has an envelope number assigned to them, by March 2, 2026, they will receive In-Parish tuition. Please review the complete In-Parish Tuition Policy below.

REGISTRATION & ACADEMIC FEES (NON-REFUNDABLE)

Annual registration fee: $500 per student per year

Enrollment fee increases to $600 after March 13, 2026 and to $700 after June 11, 2026.

iPad fee: $500; includes 4 years of Apple Care Plus (1st year students only)

iPad Textbook download fees: approximately $200 per student per year

Senior fee: $300 (senior year only)

What is the in-parish tuition policy?

All active parishioners are eligible for the in-parish tuition rate. Active parishioners:

1. Most importantly, attend Saturday/Sunday Mass regularly (as determined by envelopes/Faith Direct attendance cards placed in the collection basket at Mass)

2. Support the community by participating in parish and school events

3. Volunteer for parish and school ministries, events and fundraisers; and

4. Contribute to the parish financially, through weekly Mass offerings.

This level of commitment helps parish families encounter Jesus anew. Your financial support also offsets the cost of education and also promotes a meaningful experience for students and parents as part of our parish and school community.

The Church of the Divine Child supports our school community by providing financial assistance for both the Elementary and High Schools in order to make tuition more affordable.

Church attendance is reviewed annually, in January. Attendance is based on the number of offertory envelopes or Parish Soft attendance cards (printable version) placed in the offertory box at Saturday or Sunday Mass. If you cannot afford to make an offertory contribution, an empty envelope placed in the offertory box lets us know you were at Mass. Families who have not attended Mass regularly as of January 2027, will automatically have their tuition rate changed to the Out-Of-Parish rate for the 2027-2028 school year.

If you are a member of another parish, ask your pastor if your parish is willing to subsidize some or all of the difference between our in-parish and out-of-parish tuition rates on your behalf.

How do I qualify for the in-parish tuition rate?

The In-Parish rate is not a discounted rate. Financial support for Divine Child Schools comes from both the parish and from tuition. Therefore, In-Parish families must be registered at Divine Child Church, and are expected to regularly attend Mass at Divine Child, participate in one or more Parish Ministries and/or fundraisers, and make regular financial contributions to the parish. Additionally, in order to be granted In-Parish status, the student(s) must be baptized Catholic.

For the 2026-2027 school year, as long as a family is registered at Divine Child Church, and has an envelope number assigned to them, by March 2, 2026, they will receive In-Parish tuition. Thereafter, church attendance will be reviewed annually in January, and a determination made as to In-Parish/Out-of-Parish tuition based on the above requirements.

Finally, if you are a member of another parish, ask your pastor if that parish is willing to subsidize the difference between the In-Parish and Out-of-Parish tuition rate on your behalf. We encourage families to remain with their existing parish.

What payment plan options do I have?

100% payment due in May

50% payment due in May and 50% due in August

30% payment due in May and the remaining 70% paid monthly from July through April (choice of 5th or 20th of each month)

*Families with two or more children attending Divine Child may make 12 equal payments from May through April with approval from our Director of Enrollment & Retention or our accountant.

How are tuition payments made?

Divine Child High School tuition is billed through FACTS Tuition Management. Electronic tuition payments are processed directly from a checking or savings account on a selected day of each month (most often the 5th or 20th of the month). Tuition may be charged to a credit card for 2.95% convenience fee. To help families with budgetary obligations, a monthly FACTS payment plan is offered with an enrollment fee of $50.

Scholarships

Divine Child High School offers the following academic scholarships to incoming freshmen:

Merit-Based Scholarships

ACADEMIC MERIT

Students who score in the 85th percentile or higher on the High School Placement Test are eligible for various merit scholarships ranging from $750 to $3,500.

Academic scholarships are renewable if a student maintains an A- average or higher, meaning the total value of the scholarships range from $3,000 to $14,000 over four years. Scholarship announcements are included with the student's acceptance letter.

FALCON LEGACY

The top incoming freshmen whose parent or parents are Divine Child High School alumni are invited each year to compete for a four-year tuition assistance scholarship equal to $5,000 per year. Students must score at or above the 85th percentile (composite score) on the High School Placement Test plus achieve an A- average or higher in grades. If more than two students achieve this requirement, the total qualifying students with the highest composite test score will compete. Students interview with the selection board.

Two freshmen will be selected in February for this scholarship each year. The scholarship is renewable if the student maintains an “A-” average or higher each year. Students must apply for admission by December 15 and take the High School Placement Test in November or December to be considered for this scholarship.

FALCON SCHOLAR

The top five incoming freshmen, based upon High School Placement Test scores, will receive a scholarship valued at 50% of tuition. The scholarship is renewable for all four years if the student maintains an “A-” average or higher and takes three or more honors or AP classes each year.

Students must apply for admission by December 15 and take the High School Placement Test in November or December to be considered. Scholarship winners are announced in late January.

HENRY & IRENE SCHMENK SCHOLARSHIP

Two scholarships are offered each year to incoming freshmen in memory of Henry and Irene Schmenk. The recipients receive a $3,500 scholarship good for freshman year.

To apply, students complete an essay question on why they value a Catholic education. All students who are offered an acceptance to our incoming freshmen class are eligible to apply.

Need-Based Scholarships

DCHS TUITION ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT FUND

This endowment fund was created through the sale of Our Lady of Grace church when it merged with St. Sabina Parish. The parishes together decided to invest in endowment funds for the support of students at neighboring parishes, and Divine Child was blessed to be one of those parishes. “In the one sense what our parish did is unique, but it also should be very simple. When you are the recipient of a gift, and you realize that your own community is going to have its needs met, you take care of your neighbors in need,” Fr. Jim Lopez, then Pastor of St. Sabina. WAYNE A. DORAN ’11 SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Various scholarships are awarded annually to students with demonstrated financial need in memory of Wayne Doran. To apply, complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

SR. MARY GERALD SCHOLARSHIP

A $500 scholarship in memory of Sr. Mary Gerald, one of our founding Bernardine Franciscan sisters and 2^nd principal of Divine Child High School for 17 years. To apply, complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

HENRY & IRENE SCHMENK FINANCIAL AID SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered each year to an incoming freshmen in need in memory of Henry and Irene Schmenk. The recipient receives a $3,500 scholarship renewable annually as needed. To apply, complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

BOB SCHNIEDERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Educational Data Systems, Inc., in memory of Bob Schnieders, provides $10,000 in scholarships to 1-2 students with demonstrated financial need. To apply, complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

MARIE T. ERVIN "BED" SEASER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

A $1,000 scholarship for a female student who is a Divine Child parishioner. To apply, complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

MR. & MRS. LEO SYJUT MEMORAL ENDOWMENT FUND

Annual scholarships are awarded to students in need who have a diagnosed learning difference or are enrolled in the Instructional Support Program. To apply, complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

R. E. ZAYATZ ENDOWMENT — A SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR OVERACHIEVERS

Annual scholarships are awarded to a student(s) in need who works hard to achieve his or her goals. To apply, students must complete a brief essay on their work ethic and how it will help them succeed at Divine Child. Students must also complete the Divine Child Tuition Assistance application.

Need-Based Assistance

Through the generosity of the Church of the Divine Child and private donations, we are able to offer need-based tuition assistance for families with demonstrated need. Tuition assistance grants are also available to Catholic families through the Archdiocese of Detroit (AOD). To be eligible for both the Divine Child and AOD awards, you must apply for assistance each year. Receiving an award one year does not automatically qualify you for recurring tuition assistance.

Archdiocese of Detroit Tuition Assistance Program

The Archdiocese of Detroit offers tuition assistance grants to Catholic families with children in grades K-12 attending a Catholic school. Awards offered depend on demonstrated financial need. Submit your application by Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 to be considered for a 2026-2027 AOD grant.

Additional AOD Scholarships

Education for a Brighter Future Endowed Fund

The Education for a Brighter Future Endowed Fund provides scholarships to students and families who desire a Catholic or private school education in Wayne County and demonstrate a financial need. Families may apply for students entering grades K-5. Once in the program, a student can remain through 8th grade provided the financial need qualification is met. Applications will be open in the Spring for the subsequent school year.

St. Anne Scholars Fund

Fondly named after our patron saint of the Archdiocese and the city of Detroit, the St. Anne Scholars Fund is open to any student whose family demonstrates financial need and a desire to attend a K-8 school within the Archdiocese of Detroit.Applications are administered through the Catholic Foundation of Michigan and will open in the Spring for principals, pastors, and administrators to nominate families for the subsequent school year.
