A Letter from the President

My name is Bailey Zurawski and I am thrilled to be serving as the 2007-2008 Executive Board President. On behalf of the entire Student Council, I would like to thank you for your interest in Divine Child High School. Student Council consists of class officers for the sophomore, junior, and senior classes, each of which is over seen by the Executive Board. The freshmen class votes for their officers after the first marking period of high school.

I have been on Student Council for the past three years, serving as Sophomore Officer-at-Large, Junior Class Vice President, and presently Student Body President. Student Council is a class which requires extreme determination, time and dedication. We oversee major functions for the school throughout the year, including fundraisers, service projects as well as events that build camaraderie among our students. Each year we plan Homecoming, including Spirit Week, the parade, and dance. Last year, Student Council hosted a charity wheelchair basketball game, which I hope will become a DC tradition.

Although Student Council has played an important role in my high school years, Divine Child offers so much more than Student Council. I encourage you to look into all of our other offerings. With countless clubs, teams, and unique classes, everyone can find something in which to get involved. In addition to Student Council, I am a member of the Varsity Golf Team and National Honor Society. As a senior looking back on my time here at DC, I realize that together with a great education, I have also found multiple activities that I hope to pursue after high school. Without all of the diverse opportunities available at Divine Child, I would have never discovered my passions for the future.
